Simple, Transparent Pricing

Every tutor submits a government ID and a qualification document before they can teach, and tutors teaching K-12 subjects go through an additional background check. Approval is manual, not automatic — a tutor only appears in search once their application has actually been reviewed and approved. You can see exactly what was checked on any tutor's profile page (“ID verified · Qualification verified”, plus “Background checked” for K-12 tutors). See our Terms of Service for the full policy.

If you cancel 24 hours or more before a session, you get a full refund, no questions asked. Cancelling within 2 hours means no refund, and anything in between (2–24 hours) is reviewed case by case rather than auto-decided. If a tutor simply doesn't show up, you're always refunded in full, regardless of timing. Full details are in our Terms of Service.

Students pay exactly the hourly rate a tutor lists — there's no separate fee added on top. Tutors keep 100% of every session for their first three months, then 70% (a flat 30% platform fee) — or 90%/95% with the optional EduTemples Standard (₹499/month) or Pro (₹999/month) subscription. The platform fee is deducted once, up front — nothing else is held back later. See our Pricing page for a full breakdown.

We collect only what's needed to run the platform, verification documents are stored privately and never made public, and we never sell personal data or run targeted advertising. Being fully transparent, though: India's DPDP Act requires verifiable parental consent before processing a minor's data, and our sign-up flow doesn't yet implement a separate consent step for K-12 students — this is a known, open item we're addressing before public launch, not something we're hiding. Yes — tutors can mark one lesson in each self-paced course as a free preview. Look for the “Free Preview” tag on a course's lesson list; you can watch that lesson in full without enrolling or paying anything. You'll need a free account to view it (same as every other page that shows your activity), but no payment is required.

Cancelling follows the refund policy above. Rescheduling is separate and doesn't touch payment at all — either you or your tutor can propose a new time, and the session only actually moves once the other person accepts it. Nothing changes until both sides agree.

You're always refunded in full for a confirmed session a tutor no-shows on — this is the one cancellation outcome that isn't time-dependent at all, unlike a student-initiated cancellation.

Payments are processed by Razorpay, and your money is held in escrow until your session is marked complete — it isn't released to the tutor upfront. EduTemples never receives or stores your card, UPI, or bank account details directly; that all stays with Razorpay.

Yes — ratings and written feedback from past students are shown on every tutor's profile. After a session, both sides can rate each other, but neither can see the other's rating until both have submitted theirs — a blind-reveal design meant to keep feedback honest rather than reactive.
